Visakhapatnam: As a part of ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan‘, the Japanese Naval Command of the Indian Navy has devoted at some point each month to hold out coastal cleanup exercise, together with rivers and lakes.
The Coastal Cleanup actions for April 2023 have been undertaken at Yarada Seashore, RK Seashore, Bheemili Seashore, Meghadripeta River Channel, Sea-front and Inside Harbour on Saturday.
In response to Indian Navy, the purpose of those cleanup actions is to create consciousness amongst the native communities concerning hazards of plastic utilization and its impression on the oceans and rivers.
Over 600 Service and Retired Naval personnel together with their households, DSC (Defence Safety Corps) personnel of the Japanese Naval Command, and native residents participated within the cleanup drives on the coastal areas unfold throughout town.
Approx 700 kg of non-biodegradable waste together with plastic bottles, wrappers, thermocol, glass items and many others have been collected from these websites to revive the pristine fantastic thing about the seashores.
